The original aim of this site is to facilitate competitive battlers around the world, and create a community where teams of strategists could use their PocketMonsters to compete for Ultimate Victory, and to be crowned the Pokemon Champion. That dream now lives on... THROUGH YOU!!!
What are Guilds?
The Guilds were originally created by myself, Greyhound4000, and the original four were called StormChasers, Flux, Cosmic and Heroes, each with their individual mascots and ideology. They represent four different styles of battle: Sweeping, Stalling/Walling and Supporting, respectively, however this is not necessarily the way these Guilds will choose to play. I myself plan to lead StormChasers, but over the course of time each team will have a Leader and two Vice-Leaders, and in turn have different rankings of battlers. They will be ranked as forth;
Leader x1
Vice-Leader x2
Champions x5
Ace Trainers --
Pokemon Rangers --
and
Trainers --
The Leader will assign 2x representatives per rank, aside from 'Trainers' Rank, where a trainer can request a rank-battle. They will then have to beat BOTH the other trainers in a battle on either Pokemon Showdown OR In-game Pokemon Wi-Fi battle to ascend to the next rank. If a player loses 3 or more consecutive Official battles within the Guild, they will descend a rank. Note that any Official In-Guild battles should have a legitimate score presented to Moderators (Champions) for them to report to the Vice-Leaders and Leader who are responsible in ranking/de-ranking members. The highest level of professionalism is expected within official matches, and failure to conduct yourself in a professional and adult manner can result in expulsion from your Guild. Think of the entire system as the MLG for Pokemon (or trial version at least)
So why join a Guild?
Guilds are a way to connect with other battlers with common interests and goals, all for the sake of becoming the best! The original reason the Guilds were conceived is because I noticed that other than through conventions and through social media sites, it was hard to set up a serious competitive battle within the Pokemon Community, and this should be a more than adequate way for players to socialise, discuss teams, and battle to represent their Guild in major Global events! Guilds may offer exclusive Pokemon Breeders/Item traders that aren't accessible in the regular Pokemon meta-game category, they may provide Battling Lessons, event pokemon, shiny pokemon, forum artwork, and much more, depending on what the Guild Leaders sanction and whether there are players within the Guilds willing to facilitate these shops, NOTE: Guild Leaders are not responsible for the creation or maintenance of these shops, and if a Leader themselves decide to create a Guild Store it is on their own behalf, and not on behalf of the Guild
What about Battling?
But of course, the whole point of the Guild system was to facilitate Global Social Battling Tournaments, and so I have introduced a battling system that should run with and without Guilds, therefore making it available as a Battling Tournament to non-forum users as well as the forum users. The Guilds, as well as hosting multiple Inter-Forum Guild Championships, Battles and Tournaments, will host and partake in the tournament I have named CPSG
What is CPSG?
CPSG stands for Competitive Pokemon Strategist Gamers, and is a name both for the tournament and for the contestants. The CPSG Cup will ideally take place annually sometime between July and August, and will host both a Pokemon DS Tournament on the most recent Generation of the game (currently 6th Gen, with ORAS) and a Pokemon Online. Ideally, some sort of streaming of the DS Game will be arranged, but I will have to speak with other people in order to make this happen as I am not 100% clued up on how to livestream Pokemon DS Games, however I am aware that Pokemon Gamers such as ShadyPenguinn, Shofu and PIMPNITE do this regularly. But now, it's time for:
The Rules:
This is a brief abbreviation of the Rules for potential applicants to give them a general idea of the kind of Tournament we will be organising, to see a full copy of the rules please go to the CPSG Category and locate them. NOTE: The rules are updated now and again, but you will usually be notified in the News Ticker at the top of the Home screen. Please make sure you are up-to-date on the rules at all times.
1. CPSG will adhere to Smogon Tiers
2. CPSG will primarily play to the OU Tier, however teams from lower tiers are also accepted (Eg. A UU Team in the CPSG Cup)
3. Ubers is banned, but there will be a separate, smaller tournament held for Ubers if it is desired. Also, separate tournaments may be introduced in the future depending on the seperate tiers popularity
4. All Pokemon Showdown Clauses apply to both Showdown and In-game pokemon (Eg; sleep clause, swagger clause, etc) unless specified within the full rules
Further Rules will be added after discussions with fellow gamers and as the CPSG is developed, remember this whole concept is still in it's Alpha Stages!
Conclusion:
I am aware that this is probably missing lots of critical information on what to do with certain things, how certain things will work, and so on and so forth, but this concept is indeed still in Alpha stages and I have come up with it all by myself, and will therefore change and improve as it is moulded by other users, mods, and fellow competitive battlers. If you have any ideas for improving the CPSG Concept, the Guilds ideas, or any queries about anything, please follow this link HERE to the discussion thread.
I'd like to Thank You for investigating this server and taking the time to trawl though this half-arsed attempt at explaining my dream, and I'd like to remind you that this idea will only suceed and improve through your commitment and your support, so let's all work together to create a community of the best battlers in the world!
So thank you once again, and welcome to the ArcaNation, the Nation of Battling!
Kind Regards, GreyHound
